Dear Potential WiB
Sponsors,
Let me start by thanking you for considering this event. The National Women in Blues Festival has 2 missions built in. Giving a main stage to women blues artists is where we start but our ticket sales are ear marked to charities.
We have supported Domestic Violence, Rape Crisis, CARE of UNCW and the Fully Belly Project along with the new Blues Woman's Urgent Medical Fund. Research shows that people today are responding more to events that encourage charitable giving than those meant purely for profit.
Our event includes nationally known headliners and women artists from all around the globe. This has gotten us worldwide press attention and will continue as this event grows. From coast to coast radio stations mention our event and stories crop up from Paris to Finland. I admit I am still surprised by how much attention this event got worldwide through our 1st, 2nd and 3 rd festivals. Our budget was tiny and yet RSS news feeds flooded with stories. Our title sponsor will get a headline credit on every press release. The festival title will follow the sponsor name as "presented by".
Please review the information I have included. You will find most of the information you might need to make an informed choice. I will provide the line up by phone after June 1st to keep it safe until press time.
It is important to note that 83% of all consumer goods and service purchases are made by women, according to recent research. The marketing power of your sponsoring an event meant to promote women in multiple ways is worth more than a tax write off! Yes, we are now under the Celebrate the Arts and can provide you with the proper 501-C numbers. Many consider us a form of advertising since they often have charity groups to whom they already give support.
Thank you again for considering this and call if you have any questions!
Sincerely,
Michele Seidman

SAMPLE Press Release from WiB #2:
Do you want your
Company name where it says Celebrate the Arts?
2nd
National Women in Blues Festival
Celebrate the Arts
presents, the 2nd National Women
in Blues Festival in Wilmington, November 2nd & 3rd
on the lower level of the Water Street Parking Deck. The Festival not only
brings in women blues artists from all over the country, its ticket profits
benefit many women's charities including; Domestic Violence, Rape Crisis, CARE
of UNCW, and the Full Belly Project.
This year's headliners are
well-known to blue's lovers worldwide. Friday night, November 2nd sees none other than the Georgia
Songbird and 6 time Blues Music Award nominee, EG Kight. After hearing KoKo
Taylor's voice some years back EG's music took a dramatic turn towards the
blues. Her music now crosses many borders that tastefully incorporate jazz,
country, southern rock, gospel and funk but according to Kight, the blues has
become the backbone of her music for the last seven years. Her music has been on the Billboard charts
and she has shared the stage with notables like; Taj Mahal, Delbert McClinton,
Phoebe Snow, Little Feat, Merle Haggard and Garrison Keillor during the past
year.
Saturday night, November 3rd
headliner is Deanna Bogart, who will be coming fresh off the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Revue where she has been sharing
the stage with Tommy Castro Band, Ronnie Baker Brooks, and Magic Dick. Deanna
also was nominated as Best Instrumentalist for the 2007 Blues Music Awards. She
will be appearing at the National Women in Blues Festival with The Deanna
Bogart Band. Down Beat magazine describes Deanna Bogart as "an
extravagant entertainer"-- and entertain is what Bogart does best. The
Maryland-based blues and boogie pianist / saxophonist combines the energy of
1930's style boogie piano blues with contemporary blues sounds emanating from
places like New Orleans, Chicago and Memphis.
Blues
women from around the country will appear on this Festival's stage, including
artists from the West Coast like Lara Price and Laura Chavez, Suzanne & the
Blues Church and the Queen of Steam, Michele Lundeen. New York hails solo
artist Sarah Lemieux. Back from Arkansas, Big Red & the Soul Benders.
Southeast artists include; Robin Rogers (NC, & finalist in the 2004
International Blues Challenge), Patty Benson (NC), The Grit Pixies (NC), Sandy
Atkinson (Fla.), Michele and the Midnight Blues (NC) and the regions
Grandmother of Blues, Rose Lucas. Hailing from Chicago is Juke Joint Judy. A
surprise this year is an international artist, Sophie Kay from France.
